Renewable1 Thin Film Mirror (RTFM) is a new approach in the development of reflector technologies – replacing glass-based reflecting mirrors with light weight thin-film based mirrors with an open knowledge development approach.

  • RTFMs of up to 10 inches (254mm) can be made using the Pro-Ducer Alpha molding apparatus. The RTFMs specs listed are examples of the first thin film reflector devices constructed by Cfree in late 2009.
  • High reflectivity RTFM surfaces are created with GEL 1.0 - Renewable Thermoplastic Resin of excellent molding intricacy and adhesion properties.
  • Cork backing of the mirror insulates GEL and allows for gradual and even cooling rates, eliminating need for temperature controlled kiln.

RTFM can be used for collecting of electromagnetic waves, whether it is in the visible spectrum of light, infra-red, radio or a wave of any frequency. This device functions by reflecting light energy from a larger reflective surface area and focuses and concentrates this light energy into a smaller area where it can be collected for a wide range of applications and processes.
